The people who wrote the 14th Amendment did not intend it to apply to foreigners. The key to understanding the writers' intent, without referring to congressional debates or the writers' answers to questions, is to take note of the jurisdiction clause. The amendment begins, "All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the state wherein they reside." People who are not citizens - and that does include children who are born to foreigners, including illegal aliens - cannot possibly be called "citizens." They might be called "tourists," for example, but tourists are not citizens.
Stated simply, if parents are not citizens of the United States, their children are not citizens of the United States. We've been granting de facto citizenship to anchor babies, even tho they cannot possibly be de jure citizens. It's time to start bestowing benefits on our own people, and sending illegals back to their home countries.

The government can NOT deport anchor babies because under current law they are citizens by birth.
BUT, the government can LET illegal aliens take their citizen kids back to the parent's country of origin.
We should allow this , and encourage it, so they don't break up their families,
and we don't have to pay for their kids education, healthcare, welfare, etc.NO AMNESTY
Don't reward the criminal actions of millions of illegal aliens by giving them citizenship.
