MN: Warrant issued for illegal immigrant

    Warrant issued for illegal immigrant

    By MIA SIMPSON/mia.simpson@austindailyherald.com
Due to failure to appear at his hearing Thursday, a warrant was issued for one of the illegal immigrants found during simultaneous searches of four Austin locations Aug. 14.

Francisco Sandoval, 34, was arrested with three others at a 309 Third Ave. SW apartment as officers from the Mower County Sheriff's office, Austin Police Department and Southeast Minnesota Task Force executed search warrants at three homes and one downtown business in search of drugs.

Fake social security cards, birth certificates and state IDs of aliases allegedly used by the defendants were confiscated by police.

All four individuals - Sandoval, Fermin Aguilar-Barrios, 35; Francisco Aguilar-Barrios, 32; and Porfirio Sandoval-Reyes, 38 - were charged with two felony counts of aggravated forgery, which carries a maximum penalty of 10 years and/or $20,000 fine. They are released on $40,000 bail or $10,000 with conditions. Fermin Aguilar-Barrios has already pleaded not guilty to charges.

Five others were also arrested that day on drug charges, of which four have been transferred to federal court. Two now facing federal charges - Samuel Garza, 18, and Humberto Lugo Jr., 27 - allegedly lived at the home where the illegal immigrants were arrested.

My only question is: Whay were these people even released? And who paid their bail?

Nobody would ever post bail for an illegal unless there were drug connections and they paid it out to protect themselves from him giving up information.
