US Sends Kids Back to Mexico Alone Mexican First Lady

    Mexican First Lady Margarita Zavala
US Sends Kids Back to Mexico Alone

Mexico, Jul 4 (Prensa Latina) Mexican First Lady Margarita Zavala said the US Congress rejection of emigration reform will boost illegal emigration of Mexican children to the US, and at times their subsequent deportation without parents.

Zavala led a meeting in Hermosillo, Sonora, of the Comprehensive Family Development System (DIF) to coordinate strategies for children repatriated by the US Border Patrol without their parents.

Zavala warned officials from cities sharing borders with the US caught in the attempt to cross the border illegally and called for national involvement.

Among major threats to these children, the DIF President in Sonora Lourdes Laborin complained of robbery, rape and abduction by organ and sexual traffickers.

She added that 2005 statistics say 4.7 million children were evicted from the US without parents.

How many children and teenagers were sent to the US from Mexico alone?

Many Mexican parents seem to think nothing of urging their older teenagers to leave home for the US, or to have their children try to come here alone to join their parents, so why is Mexico & the Mexican first lady not taking responsibility for this? Are we NOT supposed to return these children when they are caught?

"She added that 2005 statistics say 4.7 million children were evicted from the US without parents"

Well, the U.S. only deported some 250,000 illegals in all of 2006, which was a the highest number in any recent year, so her numbers sound like more blatant lying from the Mexican elites.

Turned back at or near the border is not in the figures given out for deportations. Deportation is when you get sent back from the interior of the country. (According to me).

So if you are turned back at or near the border and you are a child alone, that means you parents sent you here alone, so you are just being sent back to your parents. I see no problem with that.

And she shouldn't blame "US Congress rejection of emigration reform."
The blame lies with the failure of Mexico to improve itself.

of law. Without rule of law, without democracy, without rule of law being
applied without fear or favor, there is no freedom."

What exactly is this lady's point? The U.S. is being unfair and putting Mexican children in some sort of danger? She says that Mexican children will be emigrating to the U.S. because our Congress rejected emigration reform. Emigration??? reform? Emigration is defined as: To leave one country or region to settle in another. Which is exactly what the little illegals are doing by leaving Mexico. Her arguement makes no sense to me, maybe somebody in ALIPAC can help me in understanding her angst. Anyway, when the U.S. deports illegals, which is much rarer than one would think, we do not send children out unaccompanied. And furthermore, if this Mexican First Lady is so concerned about "the children" she needs to start a nationwide Mexican campaign to educate the Mexican children that it is illegal to go to the United States and they could (should) be caught, arrested and deported. Additionally, these little urchins are skateboarding into the U.S. while at the same time exposing themselves to the coyotes and other vermin that aid and abet their illegal entry. They receive much more supervision, protection and care from U.S. authorities than they do from their Mexican countrymen. The best thing that could happen to them is to get caught by our Border Patrol instead of falling into the hands of the facilitators. And by the way...WHERE ARE THEIR PARENTS? Already in the U.S. or actively pushing them to go from their casa in the poblado? If they don't have parents, where are the Mexican social welfare programs to take care of or oversee their children? Or is the Mexican government, First lady included, too busy promoting emigration of their people from Mexico and illegally into the U.S. to be concerned with the welfare of their own citizens? Might they be greedily looking forward to their peoples remittance back to Mexico from their illegally held jobs?

4,000,000 kids returned to Mexico without parents???? Is she kidding??? If this was true, we wouldn't have any more problems here...they would all be back in Mexico!

When she says "children" is she possibly referring to much older children, like older teenagers? I know we don't deport infants, babies, or toddlers alone. The following says there are 1.5 million school-age illegals in the US, so I don't believe that 3 times that number are being deported yearly, especially alone.
(Maybe instead of building a "special lane to facilitate the journey for the Mexican kids receiving 'their' free U.S. taxpayer-funded educations" we could use that money to start building a wall there next, before a child gets hurt, raped, robbed or has their organs stolen while crossing alone 2 times every single school day.

Mexicans Cross Border Daily To Attend Public U.S. Schools
Besides the huge toll that illegal immigration has taken on public schools, Americans are also paying to educate thousands of Mexican children who cross the U.S. border daily to attend public schools.

The daily trek across the border is so common in El Paso Texas that a special lane was recently opened to facilitate the journey for the Mexican kids receiving their free U.S. taxpayer-funded educations. About 1,200 use the special lane daily and, although some attend private U.S. campuses, many go to public schools by fraudulently providing a local address. The situation is similar in other border states.

The extra load is taking a huge toll on the already-burdened public school districts along the U.S.-Mexico border. El Paso actually had to propose a $230 million bond, which passed earlier this month, for new schools because officials predict the district will have about 10,000 new students in the next few years. Many will make the daily journey from their Mexican homes.

Frustrated public school officials say there is no legal way for them to control the number of Mexican residents attending their campuses since all children whose guardians provide a utility bill or lease for an address within the school’s boundary must be allowed to enroll. They simply don’t have the resources to verify that the child actually lives at the address.

Indeed, the Supreme Court ruled in 1982 (Plyler v. Doe) that public schools cannot deny an education to children living in the country illegally as long as a parent or guardian could provide residency in the school district with a simple utility bill.

That ruling has cost U.S. taxpayers billions of dollars over the years. One report, using government statistics from the Department of Education, reveals that 1.5 million school-aged illegal immigrants and their 2 million U.S.-born siblings cost American taxpayers about $12 billion annually to educate. Not surprisingly, California and Texas spend the most--$7.7 million and $4 million respectively--to educate illegal immigrants. That doesn’t even include the daily border crossers who still live in Mexico.
