I think it is a given to both major political parties that the American people are too busy watching soaps and American Idol shows to really analyze what these candidates are saying. And in Congress they know they can sneak amendments to straigtforward bills into legislation the night before for all kinds of crap, including pork.

My reply to this has always been that God says to obey the laws of the land. When I heard Chuck Baldwin on Lou Dobbs the other night ... he said it like it is.

It's more than that JAK. I agree with what you said and I add this.

NO they are NOT God's children. They are God's creation. Scripture is clear on that:

John 1:12 "But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to BECOME children of God, even to those who believe in His name." This is not mere mental assent. This is bowing the knee to Him as God, as Lord, as Savior. Once that happens they are adopted into God's family and not until then. Thus, they will OBEY God's word and that includes Romans 13:1 "Let every person be in subjection to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist as established of God. Therefore he who resists authority has opposed the ordinance of God; and they who have opposed will receive condemnation upon themselves."

Not easy to take. But if he's going to use God as his leveling field he'd better know what he's talking about.
