HUNTINGTON -- West Virginia Delegates Kelli Sobonya and Carol Miller from Cabell County will take part in a rally Monday, Oct. 13, in Charleston to talk about illegal aliens.

The founder of State Legislators for Legal Immigration, Pennsylvania State Rep. Daryl Metcalfe, will speak on his report "Invasion Pennsylvania." The rally is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. on the state Capitol steps.

"It is frustrating waiting for Congress to address this important issue of illegal immigration with their lack of securing our national borders and making it less attractive for those to come to our country illegally," Sobonya said in a press release. "I was pleased that the West Virginia Legislature passed recent legislation that increases the penalties on those who hire undocumented workers. However, there is more to be done."

Lawmakers from 31 state legislatures have joined the national coalition, according to the news release.

"Due to the rising costs of health care, and social services, we must ensure that our hard-earned tax dollars are being utilized to benefit law abiding West Virginia citizens," Miller said. "We welcome with open arms those who seek to live and work in our great state and contribute to its well being, but those who come here should do so legally."
