Ozzie-&-Harriet illegals
Wednesday, December 27, 2006

The near-mythic adoration Big Media lavishes on illegal aliens pursuing the America dream makes the Manson family look like the Waltons. A heart-tugging multimedia montage (sappier than any Hallmark greeting card) bowed Dec. 20 in The New York Times. It epitomizes how liberals try to legitimize the illegitimate.

The story ostensibly is about the fear and hope of illegals' furtive existence. "Veronica" supposedly obeys all the laws because the illegal doesn't want to be sent back. She has a driver's license. She and her husband (an illegal) bought fake Social Security cards, opened a bank account and purchased a home where they watch their large-screen TV. The story includes a picture of their waiflike, American-born 4-year-old looking into a well-stocked refrigerator.

The near-perfect parents are, of course, absolutely devoted to God and their kids.

Veronica gets angry when she hears that illegals "do not pay for things." She has a $1,000 hospital bill but her son's appendectomy cost much more. The hospital told her that the government would pay the rest.

The Times Web site includes a woman's plea for God to soften the hearts of leaders so illegals can be made legal.

The liberals who control the media treat lawbreakers like Veronica's clan as the all-American family. Where's Norman Rockwell when you need him
