PA: 19 illegal aliens nabbed during traffic stops

    Wednesday, Apr. 16, 2008
    Local Briefs
19 illegal aliens nabbed during traffic stops

Two vehicles stopped by state police on Interstate 80 in Snow Shoe Township Monday led to the detention of 19 illegal immigrants and the arrest of one man on a felony kidnapping warrant issued in Georgia, state police reported.

The first vehicle, a gold Ford Expedition, was stopped on I- 80 about 2:42 p.m. and found to be transporting 12 people, none of whom were able to provide proper identification, according to state police.

As that traffic stop was being carried out, another trooper stopped a second vehicle — a Nissan pickup truck carrying 10 people — nearby, police said. Again, none of the people in the Nissan were able to provide proper identification, according to state police, and all 22 people were escorted to the Rockview barracks for further investigation.

Federal immigration officials responded. All individuals from the two vehicles were found to be in the country illegally, state police reported. Several had previously been deported.

All but three — a woman and her two small children — were detained by immigration officials. The driver of the Ford, Arlin Villalva Uruel, 27, of Guadalajara, Mexico, was found to be wanted on a felony kidnapping warrant from the state of Georgia as well as immigration warrants.

Uruel was arraigned before District Judge Jonathan Grine and remanded to the Centre County Correctional Facility pending extradition to Georgia.

I have come to the conclusion all SUV.s, vans, trucks, trailers, mobile homes, and semis leaving the border states must be stopped and inspected for human and/or drug smuggling.

I hope the woman and her kids were deported immediately, instead of released!

remember folks keep the 1-866-DHS-2ICE number handy if you are on the road and see something suspicious or call your state troopers. Imagine if these smugglers got into an accident with you, or someone else, not good.

I doubt they were deported. I suspect ICE gave her a date to appear in immigration court.
