HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) — Authorities say five people with ties to Malaysia or Indonesia could be deported after being sentenced in a conspiracy to bring in illegal immigrants to work at a northeastern Pennsylvania plastics plant.
The defendants received sentences of 14 months in prison, although they have already served the time, and two years on probation.
The federal charges concern the use of illegal immigrants at Iridium Industries Inc.'s Artube division in East Stroudsburg during the first six months of last year.
Eighty-one suspected illegal immigrants were arrested during a raid at the plant in June 2007.
The plant makes plastic squeeze tubes for lotions and other products.

No wonder I am not a fan of plastic anything. Besides the poisons put into plastics by the importers, but these are no longer Americans that had those jobs, but the illegals took those jobs away. I am even boycotting plastic bags and carrying my own totes to the grocery. This is one of the reasons our fuel prices are through the roof: plastics are made from petroleum products and who knows how much fuel is used to produced the plastic product.
