A Honduran man who had been deported twice was indicted this week for again entering the United States illegally.

Federal prosecutors said Carlos Humberto Calix-Medina had been removed from the country in February 2005 and again the following April, but re-entered the country and was found in Allegheny County on Nov. 23.

He had not applied for or received permission to enter the country from the Department of Homeland Security, prosecutors said.

If convicted of violating federal immigration laws, Calix-Medina could face up to two years in prison and a $250,000 fine. He was arrested after a joint investigation by Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the Mt. Lebanon Police Department.
