Scranton is one of the places VOPUSA held a protest last year, and is about an hour or so north of Hazleton.

I hope that ALIPAC can one day cull the archives of news stories in the last few months, and gather them into something that can be sent to all of our grand legislators, who are hungry to please their constituents with money (like corporations looking for cheap labor) all in their quest for the votes which are won by political spin speeches. And then when they do get into office, it seems often nothing happens in favor of the constituents (normal, non-allied voters with no jobs or much money).

Where are the hate crime charges?

Where is the Associated Press story in every newspaper in the USA?

Where are the vigils at Hispanic churches preaching tolerance?

Where are the LATINAS protesting against violence directed at women?

They're busy waiting for the media. They don't take a step unless there's a camera in front of their faces.

BTW, anyone heard about brown supremacy groups planning to protest in Shenandoah during the court hearings? I am trying to find some evidence after this was brought to my attention.

A Uruguayan national who is in the country illegally allegedly bludgeoned his girlfriend to death with a metal rod Saturday in Susquehanna County.

Police detained 37-year-old Gustavo Xavier and escorted him to Community Medical Center on Saturday for a medical evaluation. On Tuesday, he was arrested on criminal homicide charges and taken from the hospital in handcuffs. He is in Susquehanna County Prison and has been denied bail.

Police discovered the body of Lisa Parlanti, 37, of Birney Avenue, Moosic, on Saturday in a bedroom closet at Mr. Xavier’s apartment in Franklin Twp., Susquehanna County, according to an affidavit. Autopsy results revealed the cause of death was blunt-force trauma to her head.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials Tuesday said Mr. Xavier was placed in deportation proceedings, which began in 2007 when it was discovered he had overstayed his visa, said ICE spokesman Michael Gilhooley.

Mr. Xavier attended an immigration court hearing in April and had another court hearing scheduled next month, Mr. Gilhooley said.
