    Accident brings in the feds

A Warwick accident Monday afternoon in which one driver was injured has brought in federal authorities.

Warwick police Lt. Mark Goldberg said one of the drivers, Lenirde Gomes DaCosta, is in the country illegally. Goldberg said U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents have asked that DaCosta be held in Bucks County Prison while they investigate her case. DaCosta is believed to be from Brazil.

According to Goldberg, DaCosta, who has a Philadelphia address, was driving a Volkswagen Golf that was in a collision with a Ford Escape at the intersection of York and Almshouse roads at about 1:17 p.m.

The impact caused the Escape to roll over. The driver, Steven Patterson, address not given, had to be extricated from his vehicle by firefighters from Warwick and Warrington. Police said Patterson was taken to Doylestown Hospital, but a hospital spokeswoman said the hospital had no record of Patterson being treated there.

Goldberg said the accident is under investigation, but police believe DaCosta may have gone through a red light. She is being charged with operating a vehicle without being properly licensed.

Chances are she doesn't have insurance either! Once again, the American citizen who apparently has played by the rules and was victimized by this illegal invader, will end up getting screwed!

Atleast it appears as if she is being detained as opposed to simply being released with a citation. That's good news!

It's good to hear that local law enforcement in PA is savvy enough to call ICE and that ICE put a detainer on her.....

To all illegal aliens...Bucks County is waking up .....if you commit crimes, drive drunk, cause accidents etc. local law enforcement will call ICE....so stay out.
