Illegals sentenced for posing as citizens

Years ago, Alicia Estudillo decided she wanted to become a chemical engineer.

She enrolled in a college in her native Mexico but was forced to quit after a few semesters because she couldn’t afford to pay the tuition.

Like many others, she then crossed into the U.S. illegally in search of a better life.

Her dream ended Wednesday, when she and another woman pleaded guilty to two counts of making false statements about their citizenship.

She and Carmen Ramos, 42, of the Dominican Republic, were both charged in February after federal authorities discovered they had obtained birth certificates and Social Security cards that identified them as residents of Puerto Rico.

It doesn’t mean she’ll go free, though. She’ll continue to be imprisoned until federal authorities decide whether she’ll be deported.
WTH they mean WHETHER she'll be deported??? Get em out of the country after they finish their sentences and pay their fines!

Estudillo is probably lying about the tuition.....the 60 plus campuses of the National Autonomous University of Mexico are FREE to Mexican nationals....so she could've gone to school there...and regardless, it is irrelevant as far as our immigraiton laws are concerned. She could've applied for a student visa like many other foreign nationals do.....

I don't believe a word she says...she has proven her propensity for lying, stealing and committing crimes. Deport them both as soon as possible. Americans have had enough.

How did she get through college if her English is so bad that she now needs a (paid for by taxpayers) translator?

She was most likely told she had the "right" to have one and it's *FREE*.
