Luzerne County will receive $137,472 from the federal government to offset costs of incarcerating illegal immigrants in the county prison, officials said Friday.
While appreciative, county minority Commissioner Stephen A. Urban says the county spends about $1 million per year housing illegal immigrants in the county’s Wilkes-Barre facility.

Hell if we're not going to do anything about this problem with our boarders ,we might as well just stand back and let Mexico just take over and let them have our country. That's what it amounts to. They already get benefits that we the US citizens can't get. Nothing is being done about it. American people are either chicken, ignorant or just don't give a care one way or another. It's okay to help someone out. But it another to give everything away especially things that we worked all our lives for. I think they ought to get exactly the same treatment that the American people get and no more. The benefits we get.is all that they should get and no more. They also ought to be heavily taxed just as we the citizens are. (Which they aren't). They have to be made to learn the English language that is spoke over here, after all if we should go to Mexico we would be made to learn their language, so they should be made to learn ours!~!!!!!!!!! I seen some come out of Wal-mart (who I know as a fact make 1,500 to 2,000 per week), had three buggies full of groceries paid for with food stamps now I ask you, what's wrong with this picture? I get just 860.00 per month and only can get 10.00 in food stamps!!! This is not right at all. I worked all my life and paid my taxes and they've been here just a couple of years and haven't paid nothing but sent their money to Mexico. THE AMERICAN PEOPLE ARE'NT BEING TREATED FAIR AT ALL!!! AND I'M MAD AS HELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I live in that county (and Hazleton is at the southern end of Luzerne County); Steve Urban hasn't done much to make me mad, but there's a LOT of infighting between the three commissioners! Maryanne Petrilla has the Obama-tude, wherein she doesn't have to answer to anyone and doesn't care what anyone thinks. The third commissioner, Greg Skrepenak, was one of the ringleaders in the Las Vegas debit card scandal a year ago (nobody knew about it until AFTER the election, of course) and he was one of the shady characters who was piecemealing the prison's food costs to his buddies and their businesses instead of taking bids for the jobs as required by law.
LOTS of sheisty stuff going on here.
I am actually surprised by Urban's open admissions of the county costs of incarcerating illegal aliens. The flag flies at half-mast out of grief for the death of my beautiful, formerly-free America. May God have mercy on your souls.
