LAFLIN – A 23-year-old man suspected of being an illegal immigrant from Mexico was arrested Friday in connection to a burglary at a tile ceramic business in December.
Jose Lima, 23, who had no permanent address and resided in the Wilkes-Barre area, was arrested on burglary and theft charges, according to court records. He is accused of being an undocumented citizen while living in the U.S.
Lima was arrested for the alleged burglary at Passeri Granite Marble & Tire, 1600 Highway 315, in Wilkes Barre, according to the Laflin Police Department.
The case regarding his citizenship was subsequently referred to the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement for further investigation.
Court dockets revealed Lima had two traffic citations last year. Lima was cited in July for driving without a driver’s license in Laflin. Two months prior, he received a similar traffic citation in Kingston, for which two summons were issued, but were undeliverable.
Lima was arraigned before County Judge Diana Malast and was taken to Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $20,000 straight bail.
A preliminary hearing was scheduled for Feb. 25 at Central Court.

So, they had two chances to deport this illegal invader and they did not do so. In addition ,they let him go with a useless citation that means as much to an illegal invader as toilet paper.Court dockets revealed Lima had two traffic citations last year. Two months prior, he received a similar traffic citation in Kingston, for which two summons were issued, but were undeliverable.
Instead, they wait until he goes on to commit a more serious crime. Thank god nobody was in that business during the break in our we could have been dealing with something much worse.
When is enough enough already
