'Undocumented citizen' charged in rape of 11-year-old girl




CHAMBERSBURG - An "undocumented citizen" is being charged with the rape of an 11-year-old Chambersburg girl.

Chambersburg Police on Friday announced that a 22-year-old Chambersburg man with no fixed address had alleged sexual contact with a girl he was living with earlier this year.

He was living in the borough with the girl and her mother when the alleged Sept. 22 incident happened, police said.

He is being charged with rape of a child, statutory sexual assault and aggravated indecent assault of a child.

Chambersburg Police Department picked up the investigation from Shippensburg Police Department. A concerned citizen told Shippensburg authorities on Oct. 19 about the alleged rape.

Public Opinion is withholding the identity of the accused to protect the privacy and identity of the alleged victim.
