PA unveiling law against sanctuary policies!
State Lawmakers to Unveil "No Sanctuary" Legislation to Offset Increasing Taxpayer Costs Fueling PA's Illegal Alien Invasion
WHAT: State Representatives Daryl Metcalfe (R-Butler), Tom Creighton (R-Lancaster), Mark Mustio (R-Allegheny), Scott Perry (R-Cumberland/York) and Harry Readshaw (D-Allegheny) will introduce the newest additions to the National Security Begins at Home package.
Sponsored by Metcalfe, both pieces of legislation would provide legal and economic sanctions against any city, municipality or other local government entity that adopts ordinances, policies or informal procedures to encourage illegal aliens to reside within its borders or otherwise hinders law enforcement activities.
WHO: Offering support for this bipartisan legislation and providing insight on the ever-increasing social and taxpayer costs resulting from Pennsylvania’s ongoing Illegal Alien Invasion will be Kathleen Appell, research and media coordinator, Citizens for Immigration Control and Enforcement; Marianne Davies, Esq. vice-chair, You Don't Speak for Me; and Yeh Ling-Ling, executive director Diversity Alliance for a Sustainable America.
Other state lawmakers scheduled to attend include: Reps. Jim Cox, (R-Berks), Rob Kauffman, (R-Cumberland/Franklin), Sam Rohrer (R-Berks) and RoseMarie Swanger (R-Lebanon).

Illegals bills would punish state municipalities
By Christopher Wink
TRIBUNE-REVIEW
Thursday, June 12, 2008
HARRISBURG -- As the Pennsylvania General Assembly plunges into its annual budget negotiations, state Rep. Daryl Metcalfe is focusing on what is becoming his signature concern: immigration reform.
"The illegal alien issue in Pennsylvania is costing taxpayers millions of dollars," the Butler County Republican said. "So I think the budget season is the perfect time to announce this legislation."
Metcalfe held a rally in the Capitol on Wednesday to introduce two bills that would levy legal and economic sanctions against local governments that violate federal immigration law by supporting people who come into Pennsylvania illegally, whom Metcalfe has called "illegal alien invaders."
The bills, which Metcalfe dubbed the National Security Begins at Home package, are supported by other House Republicans, including Reps. Thomas Creighton of Lancaster, Mark Mustio of Moon and Scott Perry of Cumberland County.
Democratic Rep. Harry Readshaw of Carrick also attended Metcalfe's rally.
"At this particular moment, I would rally on any legislation that will specifically look at the illegal immigration problem," Readshaw said. "We have to deal with it somehow, some way. The most important word here is 'illegal.' "
Readshaw introduced his own immigration reform bill, which mirrors laws in Oklahoma, considered the toughest in the country. But that bill has stalled in the House State Government committee since January, and there is no indication it will move forward soon, Readshaw said.
Metcalfe's bills also might be buried, particularly as budget negotiations begin in earnest -- and because immigration hasn't been a key issue in Pennsylvania.
"It's time we hold sanctuary cities or other local governments responsible, hold them liable for the damages done to citizens by illegal aliens," Metcalfe said. "Let's go back to American policy."

The pattern seems to be that these bills are only taken seriously when the Invasion reaches " Crisis " proportions for that area and the budget is almost bankrupt.
