Oklahoma City (AP) -- As Oklahoma looks to reduce the number of illegal immigrants in the state the Department of Public Safety is assigning two people to help uncover fraudulent documents.

Arber Wheaton and Ken Miller have been working since August to train document examiners statewide in how to detect fake birth certificates, Social Security cards, driver licenses, passports and immigration work visas.

The two are training the state's more than 100 document examiners who work at the 60 testing sites where driver's licenses and I-D cards are issued.

Wheaton says illegal immigrants will try nearly anything and fake documents are even being sold in flea markets.

She says she recently examined a birth certificate from New Mexico that appeared legitimate in every regard but one - the seal on it is that of the state of Nebraska.
