A boatload of suspected illegal immigrants came ashore in Leucadia early Tuesday morning and 15 people were arrested.
The panga was first spotted by a Coast Guard helicopter about 1:20 a.m. while on routine patrol south of Oceanside, Coast Guard Petty Officer Henry Dunphy said.
The boat made landfall about 2 a.m. near the Batiquitos lagoon north of Grandview Beach, Dunphy said.
Border Patrol agents assisted by the Sheriff’s Department took the people into custody.
