Patrick To Scrutinize State Police Role In Immigration

Gov.-Elect To Review New Policy
BOSTON -- Gov.-elect Deval Patrick will review a new policy proposed by Gov. Mitt Romney for state troopers to be authorized to arrest illegal immigrants in Massachusetts.
Currently, troopers don't have the power to arrest people on immigration charges. That power rests with federal authorities.
Romney is expected to announce the new policy later this week. But an aide to Patrick said the move is designed to curry favor with conservatives across the country as Romney prepares for a possible presidential run in 2008.
Federal immigration officials said they would welcome the help from the state police. Under the plan, as many as three-dozen troopers would receive special training on immigration law and avoiding racial profiling.

If Romney was serious - and he is NOT - he would have pushed this when he had a chance. Instead, he's grandstanding knowing perfectly well that this is a NO GO from the get go.
He's a globalist fraud and has obviously banked on fooling people. Looks like he did just that.
