Perry seeks tuition freeze, tax reform in State of State speech

AUSTIN – Gov. Rick Perry advocated a tuition freeze in his State of the State speech today and said he’ll support giving companies that make up to $1 million an exemption from the new state business tax.

In an address that focused heavily on how best to deal with the troubled economy, Perry said that Texas leaders should respond the way Texans did as three hurricanes struck in the past year.
