Wounded Phoenix kidnap victim at hospital

by Associated Press
PHOENIX (AP) - Phoenix police say a man who was shot and then kidnapped at a drive-through liquor store has been dropped off at a city hospital and is expected to recover from a gunshot wound.
Police say 21-year-old Antonio J. Saenz of Phoenix was in a car with a friend Friday evening when they pulled into the store in west Phoenix. That's when at least two men in a black early 2000s SUV rammed into the victim's BMW.
The BMW crashed behind the store and two men got out of the SUV, confronted Saenz and shot him. They put him in their SUV and drove away.
Police say Saenz doesn't know why he was kidnapped and an investigating is continuing.
Police say the passenger with Saenz is being questioned. The passenger had illegally entered the country from Mexico about a week ago.
Authorities have recovered the SUV involved in the incident and it's being processed for evidence.

Police are looking for the men who shot and kidnapped another man outside a Phoenix liquor store Friday night.
Sgt. Andy Hill said 21-year-old Antonio Saenz was found Saturday afternoon when he was dropped off at a Valley hospital. He was said to have a non-life-threatening gunshot wound and is expected to recover.
Earlier Saturday, Hill said that at about 6 p.m. on Friday night Saenz and a passenger drove into the drive-thru of a liquor store at 59th Avenue and Thomas Road when their vehicle was "rammed" by another vehicle.
The victim reportedly drove behind the store and crashed into a loading dock.
Hill says the passenger ran away as at least two suspects got out of the other vehicle and confronted Saenz, shooting him at least once.
Investigators said evidence at the scene showed that the suspects took the injured victim, put him in their vehicle and drove away.
That vehicle, a black SUV, was located Saturday night, according to Hill.
The victim's passenger was not injured.
Saenz told investigators he does not know why he was kidnapped, Hill said.Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)
