Thread: Plane landed at LAX suspicious package coming in from Mexico

I just heard on CNN that a plane has been landed at LAX do to a suspicious package. The Alaska plane was coming in from Guadaljara Mexico. Can anyone find anything on this?

LOS ANGELES -- Police evacuated an Alaska Airlines flight Monday after a report that a "suspicious item" was found on board, a Los Angeles International Airport spokeswoman said.

MSNBC reported that police with bomb-sniffing dogs determined that the item was not explosive, but the 125 passengers on board were all questioned by security personnel.

Airport police were notified at 8:20 a.m. that there was a suspicious item on board a plane that was in the air after leaving Guadalajara, Mexico, said airport spokeswoman Nancy Castles. The plane landed without incident just before 9 a.m., Castles said, and the passengers were transported to the terminal in buses.

The aircraft taxied to a remote area of LAX after the landing, according to Harold Johnson of Los Angeles World Airports, the Los Angeles city agency that operates the facility, and authorities examined the item.
