So true....So sad!!

This is from a letter from Congressman Mark Kirk of Illinois. It was in response to my email regarding H-1B visas.

The H-1B visa program was designed to fill in the shortages in key labor sectors by utilizing skilled foreign nationals. In the wake of September 11, it is critical that these visa applicants are closely scrutinized by the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of State to thwart terrorists from entering the U.S. Currently, the law limits H-1B visas to 65,000 annually.

On March 22, 2007, Representative Luis Gutierrez (D-IL) introduced H.R. 1645, the Security Through Regularized Immigration and a Vibrant Economy Act of 2007. This legislation proposed broad-sweeping, comprehensive immigration reforms, including more than doubling, the H-1B visa cap. On May 9, 2007, Senator Harry Reid (D-NV) introduced a similar bill in the Senate called the Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act (CIRA) of 2007.

As a nation of laws and a nation at war, we have a responsibility to control our borders and discourage illegal immigration. That is why I opposed CIRA in its current form.

Upon enactment, this bill would give amnesty to nearly 12 million illegal immigrants in the form of a “probationaryâ€

It’s a guaranteed reality that when Obama or McCain take the wheel on January 9, 2009, one or the other continues on the same track toward the same destination that George W. Bush launched. Our sovereignty, our culture, our language, our success as a civilization cannot and will not survive this onslaught.

So true. It doesnt matter which one, we are doomed. All I can say is pray for a miracle, because it will take one.
