A Connecticut man will spend more than five years in federal prison and his life on probation for trying to arrange to have sex with girls in Mexico.
U.S. District Court Judge Cindy K. Jorgensen sentenced Anthony Price Lowenstein, 40, of Greenwich, Conn., to 63 months in prison after he pleaded guilty to interstate travel with intent to engage in illicit sexual conduct and having child pornography.

Lowenstein had arranged to travel here in June 2003, then to Mexico to have sex with girls, but the people making the arrangements were undercover agents, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney's Office in Arizona.

Child pornography was found on Lowenstein's computer at his Connecticut home, the release said.

After being released from prison, Lowenstein will be on supervised release for life as a sex offender. He will have restricted Internet access, must register as a sex offender and have no unsupervised contact with minors, the news release said.
