Jody,

The message from Sen. Cornyn's office was clear,
"We want to hear from your team members" this
following our meeting on border security when we
learned that Sen. Arlen Specter will be heading
up new legislation for immigration reform to be
ready by March 2.

But, instead of using the Sensenbrenner bill (which
passed with 88 percent support in the House) we were
told was not likely to be the same bill used in the
Senate because it didn't have a "guest worker" or
amnesty component.

++ Guest worker and amnesty plans do not work

Jody, immigration reform experts and
leaders agree that "guest worker" plans and
amnesty
are doomed to failure. In fact, as Phyllis
Schlafly
said, a guest worker plan not only rewards lawless
behavior, it "creates a cerf class of people"
that will ultimately suppress wages for everyone.

Still other experts point to past failed attempts
saying they have never worked in human history.
In fact, as they suggest, guest worker plans are
immoral, socially subversive and will only become
a permanent settlement.

A guest worker or amnesty component in immigration
reform legislation would prove disastrous, that is
why Sen. Cornyn's office has asked us to lead the
charge, and why we are asking you to take action with
us in two important ways.

be joining more than 220,000 citizens who recognize
the seriousness of illegal immigration, and who want
to have a true grassroots voice in the immigration

but only if it doesn’t include a guest-worker or

against
guest worker and amnesty plans, that they will not be
included in the Senate reform bill.
