MCALLEN - A ground and air search has been called off at the Mission-McAllen city line. A suspected human smuggler led authorities on a pursuit that ended with a wreck.

A mother and two children weren't injured when a suspected coyote collided with their truck. Mission police tried pulling over the driver of a Tahoe baring Tamaulipas license plates. The driver refused to pull over and led police to a Whataburger parking lot near Shary and expressway.

The suspect eventually collided with a pickup carrying a mother and two children. They weren’t hurt. The driver and his passengers fled into a brushy field.

The driver was arrested along with several of his passengers believed to be illegals. Authorities searched by land and air for well over an hour and managed to arrest at least four suspected illegals.

Investigators are speaking to the suspected coyote right now in hopes of learning more about where he was taking the illegals.
