    MILFORD —

Police this morning arrested three men on federal warrants for violation of immigration laws and deportation, Milford police said.

Federal immigration agents at 5:55 a.m. arrived at the Milford Police Department, according to a press release sent this afternoon by Milford police. Local officers assisted agents from the U.S. Department of Immigration and Customs Enforcement with the arrests, the release said.

Jose Leiva, 35, at 51 Jefferson St., Apt. 2, was arrested at 9 a.m. on a warrant for deportation, police said. He was transported to the Milford police station for booking and was turned over to the Plymouth County sheriff's office for detention, police said.

Police also arrested Dindup Punel, 28, at 32 Glines Ave. at 9:59 a.m. and Carlilio DaSilva, 25, at 51 Jefferson St., Apt. 1., at 10:16 a.m., on warrants for deportation. Both men were also booked at the station and turned over to the Plymouth County sheriff for detention, police said.

ICE had warrants for other people as well, but were unable to locate them today, according to police.
