Illegal transport

After observing a blue minivan speeding along I-70, an Eagle County Sheriff’s deputy pulled over the vehicle at the Eagle exit and called for backup from the Eagle Police.

The officers noted the van was packed with people and when questioned the driver admitted there were 16 people - two women and 14 men inside. The driver said he was being paid $2,000 to transport the passengers from Mexico to New York.

The officers impounded the car and called the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Office in Glenwood Springs to take custody of the driver and his passengers.
