The Cleveland Police Department reached out to the Hispanic community Tuesday as they continued to investigate the homicide of a local business owner.

Officer Evie West drew up fliers Tuesday and distributed them to local Hispanic businesses and other places members of the Hispanic population frequents.

The goal is to catch a killer.

Aiding the police department in their investigation is the Bradley County Sheriff's Office, the 10th Judicial Drug Task Force, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, the U.S. Marshal's Service, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

The investigation is into the murder of Fredy Perez Roblero.

According to reports, officers responded to Viva Mexico, located at 110 Keith St. S.E., shortly before 11 a.m. Friday after receiving a 911 call from Roblero's wife.

Upon their arrival officers found Roblero, 36, lying in the floor dead from what police believe was a stabbing.

Cleveland Police Chief Wes Snyder said the exact number of wounds inflicted upon the victim are unknown at this time.

Cleveland Police Captain David Bishop said the department is following up on leads and investigating many possibilities.

"It's like we're at a four way road. We're investigating everything. The possibility that it's gang-related, extortion, robbery. There's many different avenues," Bishop said.

According to reports, the police department is not suspecting robbery due to a large sum of money found on Roblero at the scene of the incident.

"It's doubtful it was robbery. There was hardly anything taken and he had a large sum of money on him; however, we're still investigating everything," Bishop said.

According to the police department, Roblero was not believed to be involved in a gang.

Detectives remained on the scene for several hours Friday interviewing witnesses, taking photographs and lifting fingerprints.

Snyder said Roblero's wife told investigators her husband opened the store at 9 a.m. She arrived at the store shortly after 10 a.m. and discovered him dead.

Officers detained and questioned an unknown Hispanic male who was in the vicinity of the crime scene, but later released him.

"We want anyone who knows anything about this to come forward. I want the Hispanic community to know that although ICE is involved in the investigation we are not concerned with someone's legal status. It's not an issue. We're here to solve this case," West said.
