Police raid apartments, arrest two on drug and child neglect charges

GRESHAM, Ore. - Two Gresham residents are in some serious hot water after police served a search warrant and discovered drugs, cash, fake social security cards and more.

The warrant was part of a long-term investigation. Two apartments were searched - one in the 18000 block of Northeast Wasco and the other in the 1300 block of N.E. 183rd.

Police say they found methamphetamine, cocaine, a scale, packaging material, $7,500 in cash, drug records and falsified social security cards.

Investigators added that the drugs and money were found in areas that were easily accessible to three children ranging in age from 1 to 11. They said they found cocaine hidden in blankets where one of the children slept.

Jorge Rodriguez Cazares, 27,was charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of cocaine, delivery of cocaine, delivery of methamphetamine and child neglect. His bail was set at $100,000. An immigration hold was also placed on him.

Ashley Marie Rodriguez, 25, was charged with distribution of cocaine, possession of cocaine and child neglect. Her bail was set at $45,000.

The children were placed into protective custody with the Department of Human Services.
