NEW YORK -- A poll finds nearly nine in 10 American voters believe illegal immigration is a serious problem.

About six in 10 in the Quinnipiac University poll said they're against efforts to make it easier for illegal immigrants to become citizens. An even bigger majority opposes issuing those immigrants driver's licenses.

Nearly 40 percent of voters want the current levels of legal immigration reduced. About a quarter want it increased.
