POLL: Republican Party Holds a 10-Point Advantage Over Democrats on Immigration
POLL: Republican Party Holds a 10-Point Advantage Over Democrats on Immigration
Jose Nino | Aug 30, 2023
According to a Rasmussen poll, 48% of likely United States voters trust Republicans more to tackle immigration, whereas 38% trust Democrats more. An additional 14% are unsure.
33% of voters rate the manner in which President Biden has handled issues connected to immigration as good or excellent. By contrast, 48% of voters gave him a poor rating.
82% of voters believe the immigration issue will be important in the 2024 presidential election, which includes 47% who believe the issue will be very important. Only 16% of voters don’t believe immigration will be an important issue in the 2024 presidential election.
91% of Republican voters, 78% of Democrat voters, and 76% of independent voters expect immigration to be at least a somewhat important issue during the 2024 presidential election. That said, Republican voters are more likely to view it as a very important issue.
By contrast, 60% of Democrat voters rate Biden good or excellent for the way he has handled issues connected to immigration, only 14% of Republican voters and 24% of independent voters agree with that assessment. 77% of Republican voters and 51% of independent voters give Biden a poor rating on immigration, in addition to 19% of Democrat voters.
86% of Republican voters and 74% of Democrat voters trust their own party more to handle immigration.
Among independent voters, 44% trust Republicans more, 30% trust Democrats more , and 26% are unsure about which party they trust more to tackle the immigration question.
34% of white voters, 50% of black voters and 23% of non-black minorities gave Biden good or excellent rating for the way he has handled issues connected to immigration. 50% of white voters, 36% of black voters, and 49% of non-black minorities have more trust in Republicans on immigration questions.
As far as income categories go, voters earning over $200,000 annually are the only group which trusts Democrats more to tackle immigration. Among individuals making between $30,000 and $50,000, Republicans are trusted more by a 54% to 34% margin.
Democrats are the Great Replacement party so it’s not a surprise why many voters trust them on the immigration question. However, Republicans can’t be fully trusted either, especially those bought and paid for by the Chamber of Commerce. Indeed, the GOP has witnessed the rise of right-wing populism within its ranks.
That said, this faction still hasn’t fully taken over the party. For now, America First nationalists have a tall order of trying to purge the party of the mass migration boosters. This will be one of the bigger political fights of our epoch.
