    A poor excuse

The Department of Homeland Security is using the old rhetorical trick of a false choice ("you can have one or the other") to rationalize its unwillingness to enforce immigration law equitably.

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano has delayed immigration raids and other enforcement actions at U.S. workplaces in recent weeks. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement probably will now focus more on businesses and executives instead of illegal alien employees, reports The Washington Post, citing a senior department official.

Ms. Napolitano's dubious excuse is that her department needs more time to think about the selection and investigation of targets and the timing of raids.

The federal government hasn't had enough time to think about this age-old problem? Please.

Instead of reducing its efforts to arrest illegal aliens, DHS should redouble its commitment to conduct high-profile workplace raids. It would send a loud and clear signal to any prospective illegal alien thinking of crossing the border to look for work in the U.S. DHS also should redouble its efforts to target employers of illegals.

If Congress has enough money to bail out Wall Street and Detroit, it has more than enough to ensure that DHS enforces all immigration laws.

    America has no choice.

Time to Succeed from the Union.

Janet and her boss Obamination have put Amnesty into effect by not enforcing our immigration laws. It's a sorry joke. Janet and Obamination and the political elites have broken their Constituitional contract to us so we the American people by law, have the right to succeed from the Union.
