The skeletal remains of a man believed to be an illegal immigrant were found Wednesday evening in the desert northwest of Tucson, a Border Patrol spokesman said Thursday
Though identification of a resident of Chiapas, Mexico, citizen was found on the body, the man's identity has not been confirmed.
The remains were found at 7:15 p.m. by a border agent on patrol about 20 miles north of state Route 86, north of Santa Rosa Ranch and near the Silverbell Mine, spokesman Jesus Rodriguez said.
The body was discovered a day after agents found two men dead in the desert west of Tucson.
The latest find brings the number of illegal immigrant suspects found dead in southern Arizona's deserts to at least 129 since Oct. 1, according to Border Patrol and Tucson Citizen records.

It still seems to me the ones who chance that desert are hiding more than just having crossed illegally.

I think they are either drug dealers, criminals, or something like that. I wonder how many have been murdered?

Why would they not travel to some other area to cross - and all they face is possibly being stopped by the BP - and sent home so they can try again.

Why do they try it this time of year? Why not wait until it is cooler in the desert?

    Lots of questions

Border agents find skeletal remains of illegal crosser
    ARIZONA DAILY STAR
Border Patrol agents discovered skeletal remains of an illegal border crosser and caught a man trying to smuggler seven pounds of methamphetamine through the Interstate 19 checkpoint Friday.
At about 6:45 p.m., an agent found the skeletal remains at milepost 1 on Federal Route 24 on the Tohono O’odham Nation, about 55 miles southwest of Tucson, said Richard DeWitt, Border Patrol Tucson Sector spokesman. They found a wallet on the body with an identification card for an adult male from Sinaloa, Mexico, although positive identification is pending, he said.
This is at least the fourth body recovered in August by the Border Patrol. The agency recovered 154 bodies of illegal border crossers in the Tucson Sector from Oct. 1 through July 31, compared with 150 at the same time in 2006 and 186 at the same time in 2005.
The Pima County Office of Medical Examiner has handled 167 bodies since Jan. 1, well ahead of the number at the same time last year, 167, and even more than the record-setting 2005; 148.
The drug seizure occurred at about 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Interstate 19 checkpoint north of Tubac at kilometer 42, DeWitt said. Agents discovered seven packages of marijuana weighing five pounds and five packages of methamphetamine weighing more than seven pounds under the floorboard in the spare wheel well in a vehicle, DeWitt said.
The driver, a 19-year-old Mexican man, was arrested and turned over to Drug Enforcement Administration, he said.
The 7.2 pounds of methamphetamine has an estimated value of more than $100,000, according to figures from the National Drug Intelligence Center.

Each time they report finding another body in the desert, they should be required to also list the names of Americans who died at the hands of illegals that day.
