The skeletal remains of a man believed to be an illegal immigrant were found Wednesday evening in the desert northwest of Tucson, a Border Patrol spokesman said Thursday
Though identification of a resident of Chiapas, Mexico, citizen was found on the body, the man's identity has not been confirmed.
The remains were found at 7:15 p.m. by a border agent on patrol about 20 miles north of state Route 86, north of Santa Rosa Ranch and near the Silverbell Mine, spokesman Jesus Rodriguez said.
The body was discovered a day after agents found two men dead in the desert west of Tucson.
The latest find brings the number of illegal immigrant suspects found dead in southern Arizona's deserts to at least 129 since Oct. 1, according to Border Patrol and Tucson Citizen records.
