Press 1 for English

The illegal immigrant problem is getting worse. The majority of the blame for this is shared by businesses, banks and government. The businesses want more customers, so they post "se habla espaƱol" signs, the banks have their "Press 1 for English" and the governments allow paperwork to be made out in languages other than English.

In our area the Spanish-speaking immigrants are the worst. They accept our employment but not our customs nor do they learn to speak our language. I welcome all immigrants who will accept our customs and our language and leave their former customs that conflict with our laws and customs behind them. I welcome them as neighbors as long as I can converse with them in English and help them to become citizens. Otherwise they become a liability feeding on our tax dollars.

Many Spanish businesses have sprung up in the past few years with signs in Spanish: "No se habla English." The immigrants from the Spanish-speaking countries know how easy we have made it for them to hide, exist and make money in our country before they even try to enter it.
Why should I accommodate the illegals by having to press 1 for English?
