    VICTORY FOR THE BORDER TWO!!!

    Tancredo Amendment to Free Ramos & Compean Passes House
    (WASHINGTON, DC) – US Rep. Tom Tancredo (R-CO) today celebrated a key victory for law enforcement and against criminal border crossers as his bill to prevent the Bush Administration from using any funds to enforce the judgment or sentences imposed by a federal judge in the case of U.S. vs. Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean passed by voice vote last night in the House of Representatives. The amendment will force the release of the two former Border Patrol agents whose case has been the focus of national news for several months.

    Did anyone else think it sort of ironic that the same approach of cutting off funds is also part of what has gotten us into this mess.

    Most of you will remember the recent fence bill that passed but hasn't been built because they didn't pass any funding. Everyone was so excited. What a sick joke.

    I can remember living in San Diego when the immigration laws were enforced. Part of the trouble then was when we would try and get reimbursed we would just get ten or twenty cents on the dollar. It was the same way with the incredible loads on our hospitals.

    That could be partly to blame for the lack of enforcement.

    Now the illegal invaders have dispersed along with the cost of rounding them up.

    But it said the bill has to go to the Senate. Will it pass there too???
