Prison Riot Breaks Out In Three Rivers
SAN ANTONIO -- A riot erupted at a federal prison Friday in Live Oak County.

According to the Live Oak Sheriff's Department, a riot broke out at the Federal Correctional Institution eight miles west of Three Rivers.

The sheriff's department also said that up to 30 inmates may have been stabbed in the riot, which broke out around 7 a.m.

Medical helicopters were being dispatched from San Antonio, Corpus Christi, Victoria and Houston.

The prison is a medium security facility that houses male inmates.

Three Rivers is located about 80 miles south of San Antonio.
