TAMPA | The action outside the Republican National Convention next week will in some ways mirror the action inside the convention venues.

Both will attract thousands of people from all over the country and both have messages to convey.

The difference will be the message and its delivery.

A group called The Coalition to March on the RNC will be hosting a list of speakers from labor, immigrant rights, student and antiwar groups as a prelude to a 1.1-mile march.

Speakers will include Carlos Montes, an immigrants' rights and anti-war leader from Los Angeles, and James Ingle, vice president of IBEW Local 1205.

Also participating in the march will be a group called UniteWomen.org of Florida, which is focusing on women's rights in areas ranging from reproductive rights to voting rights.

Jared Hamil, the march's lead organizer, laid out key organizing points during a series of news conferences leading up to Monday's march.

"Good jobs, health care, affordable education, equality and peace," reads a banner he and other protest organizers used as a backdrop for their announcements, and his statements repeated those talking points.

He and other organizers were asked about the possibility that the protests will not be peaceful.

They said violence is not part of the plan.

"We think that's not an issue," Hamil said.

"We're having a protest that everyone can feel comfortable coming to," said Mick Kelly, a labor organizer from Minnesota who is among the people involved in planning the event, which he described as "family friendly."

I wonder how much they are paying their marchers.

I think that this group is clearly confused and they are going to the wrong convention to protest for women's rights. they need to be headed to South Carolina to the other convention. The supporters of Sharia law have been given a platform at the DNC convention.
