    Protesters Slam Obama's Appearance at La Raza

    Hundreds of people gathered outside the San Diego Convention Center Sunday to protest Sen. Barack Obama's appearance at the National Council for La Raza, stating the he would not make the borders safe.

    Obama's critics, including members of the Minutemen, said he was not meant to lead the country. Minutemen members believe the National Council for La Raza does more harm than good, and that Obama's appearance was a ploy to garner votes.

    Interestingly, the protesters gathered also stated opposition to Sen. John McCain's plan for the border. McCain is scheduled to appear before La Raza on Monday, and protesters said they would be there upon his arrival.
