N.C. immigration officer convicted of trying to make illegal immigrant have sex with him

GREENSBORO (AP) — A former federal immigration officer in North Carolina will spend a year in prison for trying to force an illegal immigrant to sleep with him.

The News & Observer of Raleigh reports that U.S. District Judge N. Carlton Tilley gave the maximum sentence to Bedri Kulla in Greensboro on Friday.

The 49-year-old Morrisville man had been employed as an immigration services officer with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.

Court documents say Kulla threatened a 24-year-old illegal immigrant from El Salvador with deportation unless she slept with him.

The woman is now awaiting approval of a four-year visa available to victims of crimes.

Our country has gone insane. He shouldn't have done that, no question about it, but send him to prison and give her a visa?!

It's time to end giving visas to any illegal alien, whether they're a "crime victim" or not.
