    I think it's pretty standard. You send out the 10 day notice to give notice. The 10 days notice though isn't enough time for the company or the employees to comply by getting birth certificates and other proof of citizenship. It takes time to get a birth certificate. If they are legal immigrants, then of course they have those documents on them, so the greater issue is for the employees who are actually citizens to get a BC. So you give them 21 days to do that or dig up their SS card or whatever is required to prove their legal existence. I have no problem with the 21 day extension to protect any citizen workers they have. It's a shame the citizens who work there have to go through this to begin with just because the company hired a bunch of illegal aliens to work there.
