When countries defeat and subdue other countries in a war one of the first steps they take is to force the vanquished to learn their language. Have we lost a war with Mexico that I’m unaware of?


GCISD Parents Say Students Forced To Learn Spanish

GRAPEVINE (CBS 11 News) ― A fight over language in a Grapevine school has gotten so heated that some parents are pulling their children out of class.

The parents are claiming that students are being forced to learn Spanish, while children of immigrants aren’t being forced to learn or speak English.

The signs posted around Timberline Elementary are done in both English and Spanish, and so are the school letters and other information.

Officials with the Grapevine-Colleyville Independent School District say it’s their duty to educate all students. But some white students and their parents say they are now the minority and are left with no choice, but to fight.

Kaitlyn O’Pry, a fifth grader at Timberline, is protesting her school. “If I didn’t take Spanish, then I’m probably going to fail,â€

My gardener who has been here for over 30 years had the same problem. He has one child who he did not want in bi-lingual classes in Costa Mesa Ca, elementary school. They (the school principal etal) kept forcing the issue. He finally told them he was an American and expected his child to be fluent in English, not Spanish. He got his way, but its our own government forcing this on people. By the way, his child who is about 13 years old now is an outstanding student and is in all honors programs.

Another sell out of an American school...fight back parents!!!it is your only chance.

This is ridiculous....the only children that should be FORCED to learn a foreign language by immersion are the non-English speaking students including the illegal aliens and anchor babies that we are forced to educate from K-12 in our public schools.

I hope this is an isolated incident and not indicative of other schools around this country.

Another example as to why we need this country to declare English as the official language.

Somehow that probably will not happen soon enough to prevent this garbage like this.
