A rally to protest Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach’s involvement in defending a Texas city in an immigrant discrimation suit will be conducted at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26 on the Statehouse grounds.

Protest organizer Sonny Scroggins voiced concerns over Kobach’s representation of the City of Farmers Branch, Texas, a Dallas suburb whose ordinance allowing the eviction of illegal immigrants from rental property is being challenged.

Scroggins said his Bias Busters of Kansas group also will protest outside the Shawnee County Courthouse on Oct. 3 when California lawyer Orly Taitz is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing in her suit seeking a emergency injunction stopping the state of Kansas from place the name of President Barack Obama on the general election ballot.
