Republicans are the anti ILLEGAL immigrant party.
You cannot dedicate yourself to America unless you become in every
respect and with every purpose of your will thoroughly Americans. You
cannot become thoroughly Americans if you think of yourselves in groups. President Woodrow Wilson

Here are some interesting concepts to this article posted by a thinking individual........

    • How about this for a plan: Moratorium on legal immigration, other than for people who have already entered the process, until the fence is built. I don't really care if it's a physical, electric or legal fence--what matters is that we put a stop to crossing the border. The folks who are playing by the rules and applying for the chance to live and earn citizenship in the US are all we process for now--every last one. While it is unrealistic to think we can round up and ship all the illegal aliens in the US back to their native lands, we should forget a path to citizenship for the xx million illegal immigrants already here. If they want to stay, they will pay the said penalty for legal RESIDENCY. Create a new category, if need be. Not one will earn a path to citizenship without more substantial punishment for breaking our laws. And they should have to endure a long wait. People from some countries wait 7, 8, 9 years to get into the US. The penalty for lawbreakers should exceed the price that others are paying for following the rules. It would be a great idea to make education on the English language and American culture compulsory--and not some low-bar measurement of competency either. If we are going to hold the country together, we must share language and basic principles like equal rights for women. When opening up immigration to new applicants, we should not play favorites with Mexico, and we should actively promote immigrants with backgrounds in science, energy, etc. We should continue and expand free English as a Second Language courses and make English the official language of the US. No one immigrant group should have more privileges than another. There should be a fixed moratorium on any countries that execute people for apostasy, stone people for adultery, perform honor killings or clitorectomies, whip or otherwise torture prisoners, or amputate hands for theft. It will be enough of a challenge for the US to assimilate the folks that are here now. We don't need to take on that behemoth of culture clash and norms for society.
