OR: Forest Grove Police Seek Witnesses to Alleged Kidnapping

Forest Grove Police Seek Witnesses to Alleged Kidnapping
    December 7, 2010

On Monday afternoon police arrested 27-year old Gabriel Montana-Salas of Hillsboro. He's charged with 1st Degree Kidnapping, Menacing, Robbery, Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle and 3rd Degree Sex Abuse.

Investigators say Montana-Salas, who also goes by the name Javier Kortez-Gusman and may be in the country illegally, kidnapped a 35-year old woman he'd been living with until recently. Police allege he forced the woman into her car, then drove at high speeds along either Highway 6, or Highway 26 towards the coast. The victim says along the way her captor hit speeds of more than 80 miles an hour, threatening to kill her by driving into a tree. At some point he drove the car into a ditch. A tow truck driver happened along and helped them out, then went on his way.

Apparently at this point Montana-Salas decided not to go through with killing the woman and returned her and her car to Hillsboro. Police are hoping to speak with the tow truck driver who helped them out. They also want to talk to anyone who witnessed the green 4-door Buick Sedan speeding along Hwy 6 or 26 on Saturday afternoon. Call Forest Grove police at 503-992-3261 if you have any information.

The victim is said to be shaken and scared, but otherwise uninjured.

If I may post this here? This is a copy of a complaint I sent to Trimet.
    (Fyi no response)

    Message:
I was riding the 57 bus on Thursday Oct 7th from Beaverton to Forest grove.
The bus # was 2914 and this would have been about 1:15 pm.

I was sitting up in the front of the bus and there were two women that were talking when the bus driver told these two women that they had to end their conversation as it was making people Uncomfortable

At that point they did not end their conversation and I joined in.

The conversation was not loud nor was it threatening to anybody in anyway.

The discussion was about how there seems to be so much Spanish spoken here in America?

A second time the Driver said that we had to Shut up as it was making people Uncomfortable and was affecting My driving

Again there was nothing loud, threatening or confrontational about this conversation.

Since when is it Trimet policy to have your drivers declare my Constitutionally guaranteed and protected right of free speech null and void?
Maybe if more people would have gotten "Uncomfortable" in the first place we wouldn't be in this mess?
