Pearce will draft legislation for guest worker program

WASHINGTON, D.C. U.S. Rep. Steve Pearce announced today that having completed his 17 stop immigration listening tour across the 2nd Congressional District last week, he plans to begin drafting legislation that implements a guest worker program for immigrants while prohibiting amnesty for persons who have entered the United States illegally.

"Regardless of the particular form that a guest worker program takes, the fact remains that our economy needs immigrants," Rep. Pearce said in a press release.

"The baby boom generation is beginning to retire, and the 'X generation' simply does not have enough workers to replace them. America confronts intense competition from emerging economic powerhouses like China and India â€â€

the American people want Congress to secure the borders and 'repel invasion' --- but they're more concerned about "illegal immigrants" than the security of our nation. Congress wants to take away the rights of the citizens through the 'unPatriot Acts' and grant liberty to illegals . . . now that's twisted...

Bringing in immigrants in order to preserve industries is not a good argument. A lot of our employment is in industries that are obsolete for United States. It does not make sense to keep those industries here if the cost is higher prices for consumers to preserve jobs if the jobs have to be filled by new immigrants. The immigrants might as well stay where they are and sell goods made there to us. It does not matter how inflexible the American managers are within those industries. It does not matter how much money those managers give at election time to politicians like Ted Kennedy.
I support enforcement and see its lack as bad for the 3rd World as well. Remittances are now mostly spent on consumption not production assets. Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)
