Sorry, I work with Thoroughbreds and show horses. The only Standardbreds I have worked on were family member's horses. I have never worked at any tracks in Pa. and only at Del Park 2 times by special request. I normally stick with the bigger tracks because "famous" Trainers are the only ones who can get permission from the owners for my kinda specialized services. (I am a horse Massage Therapist)

I was a state lic groom in cali and az back in the 70's, my dad was a thorobred trainer. there were illegals back then too. they were terrified of leaving the backside and only left to go back to mexico or smuggle to the next track or training center on the circuit. its a whole diffrent world on the backside of a race track.

You got that right! I gave up my work on the track for a while, then when the bottom fell out of the economy I was pretty much forced back into it. Don't get me wrong... I LOVE the horses, I like a lot of the Trainers and some of the owners...LOL! I used to swing out to Del Mar back in the 80's for some of my customers, and to Santa Anita. But I started saying NO when I had a knife pulled on me.

These days I go NOWHERE on the backstretch without an escort. This coming from a woman who stands 6"1" and can manhandle horses! A woman alone on the shedrow is taking her life in her hands these days.
