    Report: Immigrant growth in Rockies outpaces nation

    The immigrant population of Colorado and other Rocky Mountain states is increasing at nearly twice the rate of the nation as a whole, according to a new report by Colorado College.

    From 2000 to 2005 the immigrant population of the eight-state Rocky Mountain region grew 27 percent, as compared to a 16 percent immigrant growth rate nationwide, the report said.

    The figures are for both authorized and illegal immigrants.

    • Despite high levels of recent immigration, non-immigrant Hispanics still outnumber immigrant Hispanics in each of the region’s states. In Colorado, fewer than a third of Hispanics are foreign-born.

    • Poor immigrants use fewer public services than do other poor people.
    Flawed logic here. The anchor babies of illegals are called "non-immigrants" and "other poor people". They wouldn't even be a factor if their ILLEGAL parents had not given birth here!
