Despite Paying Taxes, Illegals Are A Net Drain On State, Federal Budgets

Pawel Styrna, of the Federation for American Immigration Reform, has helpfully fact-checked the latest from pro-Great Replacement CNN, which updated a piece from 2019 to claim that illegals benefit us because they, too, pay taxes [Undocumented immigrants are paying their taxes today, too, by Catherine E. Shoichet, April 18, 2023]. Conclusion: Don’t believe the leftist Mainstream Media Megaphone. Illegals are a net drain on state and the federal treasuries.

Before getting to Styrna’s analysis, here’s a snippet from CNN’s Shoichet, who found the usual suspect to make her point:

“Undocumented immigrants pay billions in taxes to fund programs they can’t access,” the National immigration Law Center wrote in a series of recent social media posts.

In 2017, Belén Sisa’s post about her experience paying taxes went viral.
“Wanna tell me again how I should be deported, contribute nothing and only leech off this country while the 1% wealthiest people in this country steal from you everyday?” wrote Sisa, who was a college student in Arizona at the time.

Boo-hoo.

Styrna’s needed correction offered an amusing take. The math geniuses at CNN underestimated what illegals pay.

“According to FAIR’s cost study of the fiscal burden of illegal immigration, illegal aliens pay $16.2 billion in federal taxes and $15.2 billion in state and local taxes, a total of $31.4 billion annually as of 2022/202,” Styrna reported [Fact-Checking CNN’s Deceptive Narrative About Illegal Alien Tax Payments, April 24, 2023].
More importantly, illegals cost the rest of us hundreds of billions:

[T]he total cost of illegal aliens and their U.S.-born children to American taxpayers is $182 billion a year (i.e., $150.7 billion after illegal alien taxes are taken into account). In other words, we are forced to provide six dollars in benefits and services for every dollar paid in taxes by the unlawfully present.

That is most definitely not a good deal.

No, that isn’t a good deal, particularly looking at the massive influx of illegals since Traitor Joe Biden took office.

As Andrew Arthur of the Center for Immigration Studies recently reported, he has released more than 2 million illegals into the country, and another more than 1 million are got-aways [Biden’s Released at Least 2,020,522 Southwest Border Migrants, April 17, 2023].

How many of those FAIR included in its cost-summary of illegals is unclear. That Biden has loosed the near equivalent of the population of Los Angeles upon the country is clear.

Also clear: The Historic American Nation is paying for its own dispossession and replacement.

They can work and pay their taxes back home. Out they go.

Do not want their tax dollars, their offspring, their diseases, crime, gangs, DUIs, drugs, and destruction of our neighborhoods.

Do not forget the $50 BILLION in remittances sent back over the border.

They are a NET loss and drain on our society. If they were so great, they would be a valuable contribution to their own countries. We are not the ATM machine or dumping ground for the world's problems or their citizens.
